First Call - Connecting People & Resources

First Call is a Catholic Charities program that links churches and faith-based organizations in a 12-county area to provide for the unmet needs of people and communities.

This free service uses a manned telephone system to receive requests for goods and services; the request will be matched from a databased inventory and a referral given. If the requested help is not in inventory, every effort will be made to find it, including links to governmental and community resources.

Extensive follow-up and updates are integral to the program; the goal is to supplement existing programs, not to duplicate. First Call is available to all persons regardless of race, color, sex, religion, creed, national origin, age, or disability.

Need help and do not know where to go? First Call helps you find free information on services in your area providing:

  • Transportation
  • Clothing
  • Medical
  • Shelter
  • Children
  • Food
  • Household
  • Counseling
  • Miscellaneous
The First Call website uses the databases of local charitable organizations to match needs and resources quickly.

Make a difference in someone's life by donating good usable items you no longer have a use for. The power of giving will lessen the burden for someone who is in need and at the same time you will be making a difference in the community.

Whatever you may have, whether it is furniture, appliances, clothing or even a monetary gift, will help someone less fortunate.

Romans 12:13 says: "Share with Gods people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

And Proverb 19:17 also says: "He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for what he has done."

The power of giving will make a difference in someone's life as well as yours.
